Welcome to ISSA

After World War II, someone had the idea of creating the Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association. In 1946, the ISSA was born, and it’s still a vibrant and much appreciated organization today.

2020 Annual Banquet

Our 25th annual Hall of Fame Induction Banquet is scheduled for Sunday, April 5th, once again to be held at the Valle Vista Country Club in Greenwood, beginning at 2 p.m.

Hall of Fame

The yearly Hall of Fame induction banquet has become a tremendous success. There is a lot of personal satisfaction in being honored by your peers. It is from these people that you get your greatest respect.

As they say on the TV news shows _ we’ve got breaking news.

It is with great regret that our board of directors has come to the decision that it’s best that we postpone our banquet, and that it’s time to make the announcement official.

Considering that the coronavirus situation is likely to get worse before it gets better; that each day brings more postponements/cancellations of other events all around us; more schools and universities are shutting things down, etc.; and that we’ve already had a dozen requests for refunds from people who had ordered tickets to our banquet, we decided it was time to postpone our 25th annual Hall of Fame Induction Banquet, which was scheduled for April 5th at Valle Vista Country Club in Greenwood.

Our treasurer, Fred Inniger, will begin the process of sending out refunds to those who had ordered banquet tickets.

We will wait awhile until, hopefully, things settle down somewhat before rescheduling. We will work closely with Valle Vista and let everyone know when we determine a makeup date.

This was a very frustrating situation, and a heart-wrenching decision, but I think it had to be done, and not wait until the last moments to do so.

We thank everyone for their patience and understanding.
